Real Madrid will kick off their pre-season campaign on Sunday (July 23) against Italian Club AC Milan at the Rose Bowl stadium in California.
It is going to be the start of something for Madrid after having a fantastic transfer window where they signed players like Jude Bellingham, Joselu, Fran Garcia, Brahim Diaz and Turk prodigy Arda Guler.
Many fans will be excited to see how Carlo Ancelotti lineup for the first pre-season match with so many options available at his disposal.
According to the Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Real Madrid will probably line up in a 4-4-2 diamond formation where full-flow smooth football will be expected by Ancelotti's men.
That is how Madrid will line up:
Thibaut Courtois; Lucas Vazquez, Eder Militao, Nacho Fernandez, Ferland Mendy; Fede Valverde, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham; Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior.
Bellingham is likely to wear Madrid’s shirt for the first time but it seems like Garcia, Joselu, Guler and Brahim will have to wait a bit longer for their first start.
After taking on Milan, Madrid will turn their focus to Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United where both teams will face off on July 26 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Meanwhile, after facing United, Madrid will have their biggest pre-season test as they will come up against Xavi Hernandez’s FC Barcelona on July 29 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas where a house-full is expected.
Madrid’s last pre-season game will be against Juventus on August 2 at the Camping World Stadium, Florida.
Last season wasn’t Madrid’s best as they failed to win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League (UCL). However, they did manage to win the Copa del Rey for the first time since 2014, and FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
Now, with so many important signings, it will be interesting to see how well Madrid does in La Liga and the UCL because with a star-studded team, Madridistas will be expecting nothing less than the club’s first-ever treble in history.
